THE FIRST YEAR IN OUR NEW VAN

Long time, no seen (here at our blog at least). We hope you follow us on Instagram and Facebook for an every week update on what we're up to. Now it's been a year since we bought our van from Birsta Husbil in Sundsvall and what a year it's been!

We have tried our van in snow, in sand, on asphalt, on gravel, on dirt, yes, you name it! Our Hymer GCS 4x4 have rolled round our home many weekends, we took a couple of trips to Norway, one long trip all the way down to Bretagne and back home again (6600 kms in 3 weeks!), lots of bike trips round Sweden and ended the year with a trip down south of Sweden in November, for a family and friends visit. We must say that we are so satisfied with out van! :-) It suits our needs and we never have problem getting where we want. The only slighter downside is the pop-up roof. Don't get us wrong, it's perfect for creating that extra space and sleeping area we want, with out sacrificing the mobility of a van under 6 meters. But sometimes we simply don't wanna pop-up the roof, e.g. when parked in a city or when it's winter and cold outside. Therefore, we have been experimenting with an extra dinette bed using a plywood board, which works just fine. So we are looking at switching out the existing table for table we can fold down and make that extra bed. We'll get back on that later!

Other than lots van trips, we are getting settled in pretty well in Åre now after living here permanently for just over two years. Our daughter Noa have started school and loves it! She is growing up faster and faster. Our son Odd grew fast after Noa left kinder garden and he had to stand on his two legs by himself. Good for every one. Mum Ida switched job and are now working as a therapist (again) at the local hospital while dad André started a new career in the ski patrol.

We still feel that it was a good choice moving here, it's truly a great place with so many different outdoor activities, both summer and winter. And not to mention a great base for weekend vanlife adventures.

This summer we have a couple of different vanlife plans, but nothing decided yet so we'll leave you now with a cliff hanger ;-) Until next time! Bye bye!
